Return to Dancing Schedule Our mission: Students will discover and realize dance goes a great distance above and beyond the pure beauty of movement. In a positive, judgment free learning environment, students will develop a sense of self. These young minds will be given the opportunity to express themselves in ways thought impossible, develop confidence and determination all while having fun and sharing the gift of movement with friends. Ballet I: Students will be able to explore and discover themselves in ballet, the foundation of all dance forms. Students will begin their journey gradually exploring the concepts in rhythm, technique and creativity. The class will consist of elementary barre work, center work and fun combinations. The class will encourage students to learn, explore and discover the body’s proper alignment, technique, creativity and basic fundamentals of movement. Ballet II: A continuation of Ballet I, students will continue to practice this backbone of dance technique. Students will be allowed to challenge themselves, practice and improve their technique, all while being able to push the boundaries. This fun, hour-long class will allow students to learn and make discoveries on their own as well as with structured guidance and demonstration. This class will consist of a full ballet barre, center work and combination/variations including adagio/jumps/leaps and turns. Students will be given guidance to the proper way of using his/her body, all while given the opportunity to improve immensely during his/her time during the class. Tap I: Always a fun, rhythmic and energetic class, this hour-long class will introduce the basic foundation and tools of tap. Students will learn and discover their relationship with the sounds of their taps to the musical rhythms of various styles of music all while having fun in this exciting atmosphere. Tap II: A stepping-stone above Tap I, students will continue to learn and grow in the style of tap dance. This hour-long class will consist of a warm-up, combinations and rhythmic exercises exploring and developing growth in this particular dance form. Students will be able to make connections to the music as well as other dance forms and styles. Hip Hop I: This high-energy class allows students to explore and develop a variety of forms of jazz, street funk—all consisting of fun, cardiovascular movement. Students will be properly warmed up and stretched all while moving to the music of today! Students’ hearts will be pumping all while being introduced to this fun and diverse dance form. Hip Hop II: As stated above, students will continue to learn and grow in the hour-long class. Students will continue to learn, practice and explore movements in the body and mind. Students will be properly warmed up and stretched to the latest music of today! Students will continue to improve and develop movement in a variety of forms of upbeat jazz, street funk and cardiovascular movement! Adult Hip Hop: Prepare to smile, laugh and dance all while getting an intense cardiovascular work out! This hour-long class will get your heart pumping and your mind moving from the second you walk through the door until the last second you leave! Enjoy a fun, high-energy warm-up inspired by today’s hottest music! This class will integrate styles of jazz dance, aerobics and street funk.
